Easy-to-follow instructions August 23, 2005 Dr. Hurt (Starkville, MS USA) I bought this book with the intention of making some home decor items, but mostly to help me improve my sewing in general. I thought that the clear, step-by-step instructions and explanations were great, not only for the particular project, but also for obtaining useful general information. I did finally make the Roman shades, and they turned out great. Without this book, I'm not sure that I would have had the confidence to tackle this project.
Not what I thought it was August 27, 2004 Julie C. Terry (Wahiawa, HI USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I got this book thinking that it was going to be for a complete beginner (like me), but I really did not think that it was, seemed to be more directed toward someone with some sewing experience or skill.I wasted my money on this book.
Nice, but not what I was looking for May 3, 2004 Kim Callahan (Springfield, MO) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I gave the book four stars even though I have decided to not keep it. For those wanting to try some easy beginning home decorating projects this book has several popular examples such as roman shades and decorator pillows. However, this book ended up not being what I was looking for. I was looking for something with a little more instruction for total beginners like myself and almost all the designs rely on a sewing machine, which I don't own.
copy cat of sewing 101 January 26, 2004 22 out of 27 found this review helpful
I wanted this book so bad, so i went with one of the deals, two books for the price of x.] one of the books sewing 101 was on my list as well. Got them home and bingo, same pictures for duvet covers, some of the same identical print...., same insturctions, so i have 2 books, some money invested, and the same photo's. same instrucitons well you get i have a repeat of a book that i was lead to believe was on it's own so to speak and it is not. it is so tiny too.... thanks.
